Located within 20 minutes from the lodge are various great options for all sorts of water fun. Lake Whitingham, Somerset Reservoir, Lake Raponda, and Grout ponds are all great places to enjoy a variety of water activities such as boating, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding or simply lazing around and catching some rays after swimming. Somerset is very secluded with no private residences on the lake or ranger stations. Harriman Reservoir has two established swimming areas and a third called ‘The Ledges” which is a well-known clothing optional swimming spot with rocks for jumping. Fishing is also a common pastime for local Vermonters and vacationers and can be enjoyed on both reservoirs mentioned. Either location is perfect for immersing yourself in the lush foliage of Vermont while relaxing the day away.
Other summer activities include golfing through the Mount Snow Golf Club as well as biking on local trails. Scenic lift rides can be enjoyed through the Bluebird express which goes to the summit of the mountain. Rides are also available daily during peak foliage season.
